When do you need a wine guide?

That’s easy! Anytime you are in Tuscany and would like to discover everything our unique wine culture has to offer and be able to relay all you have experienced confidently with friends and family after returning home.

Having a wine guide will also afford you the luxury of getting to visit some of the smaller family run wineries that are not necessarily open to the general public and to see first-hand how they make their wines and enjoy intimate tastings.

Tired of run of the mill wine clubs? A wine guide can select local wines and have them shipped directly to you. Now you can have your own private sommelier who will handpick the best-blended case for you and have it sold and shipped directly to you by a local Tuscan wine shop.

Our wine guide service offers the opportunity for you to experience private tastings given by a sommelier while staying at our beautiful Villa in Cortona Italy. If you choose to stay with us at Borgo Valecchie during your Tuscan adventure, we can arrange for private tastings at the villa featuring local wines paired along with local cuisine so that you can be fully immersed in our local culture and traditions.

Maybe you would like to plan a wine holiday with family and friends; a wine guide can help with local arrangements, suggestions for places to eat as well as local sightseeing. If you choose to stay at our fabulous Villa during your wine holiday- it can be the focal point for your family and friends promising to give a Tuscan experience for all to remember fondly for years to come.

Who is the wine guide?

It’s me, Davide Baldoni, a young hip qualified sommelier (A.I.S.), born and raised in Cortona, Tuscany.

When visiting Tuscany, wine lovers like to have someone with local in-depth knowledge to share with them. I can give you an experience that will be refreshing, knowledgeable and fun in a way only a local sommelier can to give. I promise your time spent with me will truly be an unforgettable experience.

Your adventure begins the minute you reach out to contact me; your friendly, English speaking, private guide. While with me you will learn all, you would ever want to know about wines from the Tuscan region with a deep understanding and feel for this beautiful land and for the people who live here and for those who dedicate their whole lives to wine making!

Join the Wine Club

With a special focus in small, family runs wineries because Davide believes the best results always comes from the pride, winemakers are very proud of their little property, their hard work and all the investment they have done so they put all the passion and know how not just of their family but of all the community in their wines.

I have created this wine club with the hopes of continuing the relationships I have built with guests that I have had the pleasure to host on guided wine tours of Tuscany.
